Journal Collections

Though databases like CINAHL are normally your first place to look for journal articles, we do subscribe to various collections of journals that publishers make available.  Unlike a database like CINAHL, journal collections normally do not use subject indexing and cover fewer journals than a databases does.  However, they are great when you want to get a sense of the sort of articles that a journal publishes or to do a keyword search when looking for more obscure topics that the database search isn't getting.

Consumer Databases

Designed more for patients and consumers, this database can help you see the sorts of information that is available to the general public for their medical use.

Medical Databases

Though primarily designed for doctors, hospitals, and medical researchers, these medical databases can be useful when looking for additional material that the nursing databases don't turn up or when looking for topics that are more medically oriented. One thing to keep in mind is that Bethel's collection of material is geared more towards nursing students, so we have fewer of the medical journals that these databases cover.
